There's a moment every solid wood furniture owner eventually experiences.
You look at your table.

But Don't Ignore Major Changes
There's an important distinction between normal wood behavior and a serious problem.
If you notice major warping, significant structural cracks, loose joints, or other substantial changes, contact the furniture maker or a qualified professional.
And prevention matters.
Avoid exposing wood furniture to extreme moisture.
Avoid placing it directly over or against heat sources.
Keep the environment reasonably stable.
And follow the care recommendations provided for your particular piece.
The Bigger Lesson
We're used to manufactured materials that are expected to remain exactly the same.
Plastic doesn't suddenly decide it wants to be two millimeters wider in August.
Wood is different.
It has a relationship with its environment.
That's part of what makes it beautiful.
