Shipping policy

At The Wood Reserve, we take pride in delivering handcrafted furniture and wood products with care. Please review the following shipping terms and delivery requirements before placing your order.

1. General Shipping Information

The Wood Reserve offers free standard shipping within the contiguous United States on eligible orders, including handcrafted furniture.

Smaller wood gifts and accessories are typically shipped through standard parcel carriers. Shipping times for these products generally range from 3–7 business days, excluding production or personalization time. Expedited shipping may be available for select items at checkout.

International shipping is available for certain smaller products, with applicable rates calculated at checkout. Furniture is not available for international shipping.

2. Furniture Production & Lead Times

All handcrafted furniture is made to order. Production timelines vary depending on the furniture style, customization options, woodshop workload, and material availability.

Estimated production times are provided on individual product pages and are subject to change. These timeframes are estimates, not guaranteed completion or delivery dates.

Production may be affected by circumstances including material availability, staffing, seasonal demand, or other unforeseen delays.

Once production has begun, made-to-order furniture orders cannot be canceled, subject to applicable law and our Return & Refund Policy.

3. Furniture Shipping & Delivery

Furniture orders are transported by specialized delivery carriers experienced in handling handcrafted furniture.

Once production is complete and the furniture is ready for shipment, delivery generally takes approximately 1–3 weeks, depending on the destination, carrier availability, and established regional delivery routes.

All delivery windows are estimates and may be adjusted due to scheduling, weather, transportation delays, or other circumstances beyond our control.

The Wood Reserve does not guarantee specific delivery dates.

4. Delivery Service Options

Curbside Delivery

Curbside delivery is included at no additional charge on eligible furniture orders. Furniture is unloaded at an accessible exterior delivery location, such as the driveway or garage.

Curbside delivery does not include moving furniture inside the home, unpacking, assembly, or packaging removal.

White Glove In-Home Delivery

White Glove In-Home Delivery is available for an additional $99, unless otherwise included in a promotion or specified at checkout.

This service includes delivery into the room of your choice, furniture placement, light assembly where applicable, and removal of packaging materials.

Customers are responsible for ensuring adequate access and clearance for their selected delivery service.

5. Delivery Scheduling & Recipient Availability

Furniture deliveries are coordinated through regional shipping routes.

Once an order is assigned to a delivery route, the carrier or delivery coordinator will contact the customer to confirm the delivery date and estimated arrival window.

Customers or their authorized representatives must be available to receive and inspect the furniture at the scheduled delivery.

If a customer cannot accommodate the proposed delivery date, the order may be rescheduled for the next available delivery route. Additional delays may apply.

6. Mandatory Delivery Inspection

Customers are required to inspect their furniture at the time of delivery, before signing the delivery receipt or accepting the shipment.

The inspection should include checking for visible damage, cosmetic imperfections, missing components, and other readily identifiable concerns.

Any visible issues must be documented on the carrier's delivery paperwork before signing. Photographs should also be taken whenever possible.

Signing the delivery receipt without noting visible concerns may limit the ability to pursue a carrier damage claim.

7. Minor Cosmetic Concerns

Minor cosmetic imperfections, such as small scratches or finish blemishes, can typically be addressed through touch-ups or service without returning the furniture to the woodshop.

If a minor concern is identified during delivery, the customer should:

  • Document the issue on the delivery receipt before signing.

  • Photograph the affected area.

  • Accept delivery and promptly contact The Wood Reserve at contact@thewoodreserve.com.

Our team will review the concern and determine the appropriate resolution.

8. Significant Damage & Refusal of Delivery

If furniture arrives with significant visible damage or an issue requiring the piece to be returned to the woodshop for repairs, the customer must refuse delivery of the affected item at the time of arrival.

Customers should notify the delivery team of the reason for refusal, document the condition with photographs when possible, and promptly contact The Wood Reserve.

Refused items will be reviewed and coordinated for appropriate repair or resolution.

Customers should not accept furniture with known significant damage requiring woodshop repairs unless expressly instructed otherwise in writing by The Wood Reserve.

9. Accepted Deliveries & Return Transportation Costs

If a customer accepts furniture despite visible damage or an issue that reasonably required refusal at delivery, and the furniture subsequently must be returned to the woodshop for repairs, the customer is responsible for the associated transportation expenses, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

These expenses may include:

  • Carrier return visit and furniture pickup

  • Transportation back to the woodshop

  • Transportation and redelivery following repairs

These costs are separate from any applicable furniture repair expenses and will depend on the carrier, location, and transportation requirements.

This provision does not automatically apply to concealed shipping damage, manufacturing defects, or issues that could not reasonably have been identified during the initial delivery inspection. Such concerns will be reviewed individually in accordance with applicable law and our other policies.

10. Reporting Concerns After Delivery

Customers should contact The Wood Reserve promptly upon discovering any concerns after delivery.

Please provide the order number, a description of the issue, and photographs when available.

The Wood Reserve will review the information and determine appropriate next steps based on the nature of the concern, delivery documentation, and applicable policies.

Acceptance of delivery does not waive any rights or remedies provided by applicable law.
