In today's era of Amazon and quick-shop locations like Ikea, customers are used to receiving their purchases within hours or days rather than weeks or months.
The question is, however, with these fast-shipping options and mass-produced products, what type of quality can you expect to receive? Picture an Ikea table; for example, how long do you expect a piece of furniture that you can assemble with nothing more than an Allen wrench to hold up?
On the other hand, when you invest in a piece of handcrafted Amish furniture, you’re purchasing more than just a product.
You’re investing in time-honored traditions, commitments to quality, excellence, and industry-leading skills that are unmatched by other manufacturers.
What Makes Amish Wood Furniture Different?
There’s no denying that Amish dining tables, hutches, and other furniture pieces take a significant amount of time to build. In fact, we often hear customers wondering why their items are taking a long time to arrive.
At The Wood Reserve, we’re making it our mission to educate customers on the benefits of Amish wood furniture and provide more information on the production process.
If you’ve ever wondered why it takes a while for your furniture to make its way to your home, our team is here to explain.
Built-to-Order by Hand
When a customer orders a specific piece of furniture, it is still a pile of lumber when the order comes in.
Our skilled Amish woodworkers create your furniture one piece of wood at a time by using traditional woodworking techniques that they have been mastering for generations.
Since the wood shops that we work with take so much pride in their furniture, they won't compromise or take short cuts.
Amish Wood Furniture Will Always Pass Inspection
The construction of Amish furniture starts with finding the right wood for the project. This won’t happen with a trip to your local home improvement store, though. Our team of expert woodworkers source their wood from domestic suppliers that they trust and only use the highest quality materials that have been processed to ensure they can pass a rigorous set of requirements.
After the best wood is selected, the build process will begin.
Our craftsmen work tirelessly throughout the construction and finishing stages to guarantee that your piece of furniture continually passes inspection.
If there’s even the slightest flaw in its design, it will be taken back for further work until it meets all of our woodworkers’ expectations.
Shipping & Delivery
When your furniture is in the final stage of finishing, we get the shipment booked and ready for pick-up. Depending on whether you chose curbside or white glove delivery, we will schedule a specific carrier to pick-up the furniture
The carriers know how to take great care when delivering your furniture and we always make sure that your order is packaged and secure to minimize the chances of damage while in transit.
Increasing Furniture Demand
This past year has been extra difficult for us and our craftsmen because throughout the pandemic, more and more people have been spending extra time at home and are investing in home upgrades like new furniture.
This increased furniture demand has maxed out the capacity of our wood shops and caused us to have to extend lead times.
Even with increased lead times though, our craftsmen work tirelessly to provide you with heirloom quality furniture that will be cherished for generations.
Your New Amish Furniture Product is Worth the Wait
The Wood Reserve team understands the excitement you feel when you place an order. We also realize that you’re anxious to receive your furniture as soon as possible.
Just know, however, that we are working hard to complete your order as soon as possible.
Unlike other manufacturers, our woodworkers will go above and beyond to ensure you’re 100% satisfied with your products. So whether you order an Amish dining table or outdoor poly wood furniture, you can feel confident you’ll be receiving the high quality items you deserve and they will be well worth the wait!
